Planning
Duncton Parish Council is not responsible for planning. It is the responsibility of the South Downs National Park Authority who delegate decision making to Chichester District Council.
As a Parish Council, we are advised about every new planning application within the Parish and are asked to comment on it in the same way that a neighbour would. We discuss planning applications at full council meetings or at a specific planning meeting. Click here for dates of when we meet.
Village Design Statement (VDS) – does Duncton need one?
In September 2017, the Parish Council decided not to help put together a VDS as it was felt the existing planning policies offered Duncton sufficient protection, plus the fact that the Parish has a zero housing allocation and there was little if no appetite within the village to help put the VDS together. To aid this decision, a gap analysis was undertaken to determine what protection Duncton already has under existing planning policies. Click here to read the document.
